melodic sculpture remixes EP / Sappow

The album “Melodic Sculpture” was released in November 2023, and thankfully a DJ at a club played the tunes from the album during a techno event. At that time, we received feedback that they wanted a little more bass to play in club buildings.

The album “melodic sculpture” was not mastered in order to be played in clubs. So, after receiving the feedback, I discussed with mastering engineer Ueda Takayasu that we would like to do some form of remastering for club use.

As a result, we decided to create remixes of several songs from this album and remaster ‘Polar Bear’ as a single cut for club use. Initially, we expected to have multiple people as remixers, but in the end we added two self-remixes by Sappow, two remixes by ueda takayasu, and one new song to make it into an EP. Mastering is by ueda takayasu.

A very good EP has been completed. I hope you enjoy it.

アルバム”Melodic Sculpture”は 2023年11月にリリースされ、ありがたいことにクラブのDJがテクノイベント中にアルバムの曲をプレイしてくれました。その際、クラブのハコで流すにはもう少し低音が欲しいというフィードバックを受けました。

アルバム”melodic sculpture”はクラブで演奏されるためにマスタリングを行っていませんでした。なので、フィードバックを頂いた後、クラブ用に何らかの形でリマスタリングを行いたいということをマスタリング・エンジニアのueda takayasuさんと話し合いました。

その結果、リミックスを本アルバムから数曲作成し、’polar bear’をシングル・カットという形でクラブ用にリマスタリングするということに決定しました。リミキサーには当初複数人数を想定していましたが、結局sappowのセルフ・リミックス2曲とueda takayasuさんによるリミックス2曲、それから新曲を1曲追加してEPの形にしました。マスタリングはueda takayasuさんです。

とても良いEPが完成しました。楽しんでいただけたら嬉しいです。
